Air India to Launch New Flights Between Mumbai and Nairobi
Air India is set to strengthen its presence in East Africa by launching a new flight route between Mumbai, India, and Nairobi, Kenya. Starting November 25, 2024, this new service will operate three times a week, offering more convenient travel options for passengers flying between the two cities.
The flights will be operated using Vistara’s Airbus A321neo aircraft. This modern aircraft has a seating capacity of 188 passengers, with 12 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 152 economy seats. Depending on their needs and budget, travelers will have various options.
This new Mumbai-Nairobi service complements Air India’s existing Delhi-Nairobi flights, which also run three times a week. The Delhi-Nairobi route uses the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, a larger aircraft with a flight time of approximately 7 hours and 25 minutes. The introduction of the Mumbai-Nairobi flights will further enhance the airline’s connection between India and Kenya, allowing more travel flexibility for passengers and supporting stronger ties between the two nations.
As of now, bookings for the Mumbai-Nairobi route have not yet been opened, indicating that Air India is still finalizing some operational details. However, the announcement of this new route highlights Air India’s continued commitment to expanding its international network, particularly in Africa. This expansion aims to boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between India and Kenya, while also offering seamless travel options for people traveling across the two continents.
The introduction of these new flights is expected to further solidify Air India’s footprint in East Africa, providing more choices for travelers and contributing to stronger economic and social ties between India and the region.
