VistaJet Expands Operations in East and Southern Africa Showcasing its Global 7500
VistaJet, a global leader in private aviation, showcased its flagship aircraft, the Global 7500, in East and Southern Africa as part of its second 2024 roadshow. Following the success of its West Africa roadshow earlier this year, VistaJet announced its expansion into these regions, positioning itself to serve corporations, governments, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) across Africa with unparalleled efficiency, safety, and flexibility.
The Global 7500, a flagship aircraft, highlighted the company’s two-decade journey and its significant role in transforming aviation in Africa. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, VistaJet boasts 14 years of operational experience in Africa and has a strong commitment to enhancing point-to-point connectivity.
VistaJet made a strategic decision to station its aircraft in Africa, starting with the Bombardier Challenger 605, enabling seamless regional point-to-point flights. By 2023, its fleet in Africa grew, with further expansion planned.
The Bombardier Challenger 605, a 12-passenger jet with a range of 1 to 8 hours, is ideal for regional flights. Complementing it are the ultra-long-range Global 6000 and Global 7500, capable of connecting Africa directly to destinations in Europe, Asia, and the America. The Global 7500 stands out for its ability to fly nonstop for up to 17 hours, offering four distinct cabin zones, including a private bedroom for unparalleled comfort.
VistaJet’s expansion aligns with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) objectives, addressing the continent’s need for improved connectivity. With limited road and maritime networks, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and governments often face logistical challenges. VistaJet provides a reliable solution, enabling direct flights across Africa and beyond without the complexities of aircraft ownership.
Africa’s aviation industry already contributes $55.8 billion to economic activity, and with rapid economic growth and rising wealth, the demand for private aviation has surged. Infrastructure challenges, limited commercial flight options, and an increasing number of business opportunities are driving interest in reliable, efficient, and flexible travel solutions.

By 2038, private aviation is expected to support 143 million jobs globally, with Africa playing a huge role in this growth. In addition, the number of millionaires on the continent is predicted to increase by 65% in the next decade, making private aviation a key enabler for the growing class of decision-makers and business leaders.
Through its membership program, clients can purchase flight hours tailored to their needs. This model eliminates the high costs of owning and maintaining an aircraft, making private aviation more accessible. For ad-hoc flights, VistaJet guarantees aircraft availability within 24-48 hours, offering unparalleled flexibility.
In the first half of 2024, VistaJet reported an impressive 14% global growth, defying the 2% contraction in the global aviation market post-COVID. Africa has played a huge role in this success, with a 103% year-over-year growth in program hours and a 90% increase in new customers.
Philippe Scalabrini, President of Europe and Africa at VistaJet, emphasized the importance of this expansion:
“We recognize the role that private aviation plays in empowering corporations and governments across Africa. As the region experiences unparalleled economic growth, VistaJet is committed to offering best-in-class solutions for businesses and high-net-worth individuals who value efficiency, safety, and reliability in their travel. By launching in East and Southern Africa, we aim to support our clients in navigating the opportunities and challenges of this dynamic market.”

Beyond flights, VistaJet’s commitment extends to sustainability and local economic growth. By partnering with local providers for ground services, catering, and operational support, the company contributes to job creation and boosts the local economy. From sourcing gourmet meals from local restaurants to working with regional operators, VistaJet ensures a tailored experience for every client.
As part of its sustainability efforts, VistaJet has committed to reducing its environmental impact. The company actively promotes the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), invests in carbon offset programs, and implements innovative technologies to improve fuel efficiency. These initiatives underscore VistaJet’s dedication to sustainable practices while offering luxurious, efficient services.
Looking ahead, VistaJet is optimistic about Africa’s economic and aviation potential. The demand for private aviation continues to grow as foreign investments flow into the continent. Kenya, in particular, has experienced a two-fold increase in flight hours in 2024 compared to the previous year.
VistaJet’s innovative model and dedication to Africa enhances its role as a catalyst for economic development and connectivity.
