Emirates Resumes Daily Passenger Flights to Lagos, Nigeria
Emirates has resumed its passenger services to Lagos, Nigeria. The airline now offers daily flights, reconnecting travelers from Lagos to Dubai.
The inaugural flight included an official delegation led by Adil Al Ghaith, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for the Gulf, Middle East, and Central Asia. Other notable members of the Emirates team on board were David Broz, Senior Vice President of Aero Political and Airline Industry Affairs, and Sami Aqil Abdullah, Senior Vice President of Emirates Airport Services Outstation and Business Support.
The flight also had important Nigerian officials, including His Excellency, Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Honorable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development; His Excellency, Zayyan Ibrahim, Consul General of Nigeria in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and Adewale Babtunde Awolesi, Head of Chancery, Consulate General of Nigeria.
Special Welcome Event in Lagos
Once the flight touched down in Lagos, Emirates hosted an exclusive event. The VIP gathering included government officials, representatives from Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Authority, Federal Airports Authority, Customs, Police, and the Airforce. Trade and industry leaders, along with corporate clients, were also in attendance.
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Airline, shared the airline’s excitement about resuming operations. He said, “This has been a long-awaited moment, and we are excited to resume operations to Lagos, helping reconnect travelers seamlessly to and through Dubai, coupled with a consistent, world-class experience onboard.” He thanked the Nigerian and UAE authorities for their cooperation in making this return possible.
Strong Business and Trade Links
Emirates is committed to strengthening business ties between the UAE and Nigeria with the resumption of flights. The service provides easier access for global trade and business, especially between two of Africa’s and the Middle East’s key economic hubs.
Through Emirates Sky Cargo, the airline will offer over 300 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity for Nigerian businesses, helping them reach key markets like the UAE, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Bahrain. Products like Kola nuts, food, and urgent courier items will benefit from the airline’s efficient cargo services. Imports to Nigeria, such as pharmaceuticals, electronics, and general goods, will also be supported by Emirates.
World-Class Service Across Every Cabin
The daily Dubai-Lagos service is operated using a Boeing 777-300ER. This aircraft offers a range of seating options: eight First Class suites, 42 Business class seats, and 304 Economy class seats. Emirates is one of the few airlines offering First Class on this route, providing passengers with luxurious amenities, gourmet meals, and one of the largest entertainment screens in the skies.
Passengers in every cabin class will enjoy regionally inspired dishes and a wide selection of beverages. Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, offers over 6,500 channels, including 23 Nigerian movies and shows.
For passengers travelling to Dubai, Emirates is also offering exclusive 48-hour and 96-hour visa services.
To celebrate the return, Emirates Skywards, the airline’s loyalty program, has reinstated previous tier statuses for its members, ensuring that they continue to enjoy their benefits.
