Skyward Express Expands to Tanzania with Direct Flights
Skyward Express, a budget-friendly airline in Kenya, is expanding its network regionally by introducing direct flights to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Starting on November 15, 2024, the airline will operate three weekly flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport using its Fokker 100 aircraft.
With fares starting at Ksh 18,500, Skyward aims to serve business and leisure travelers, this is after they opened a new hub at JKIA earlier this year. This expansion puts Skyward in direct competition with carriers like Kenya Airways, Precision Air, and Air Tanzania, enhancing travel options between the two East African countries.

For one-way flights between Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, Skyward Express will offer a competitive fare at USD 144. Kenya Airways follows closely at USD 154, while Air Tanzania provides the most affordable option at USD 133. Precision Air’s ticket price stands at USD 141.
Skyward Express hopes this move will strengthen trade and tourism ties between Kenya and Tanzania while offering passengers affordable travel options. The airline is confident that the new route will help meet the growing demand for regional connectivity and provide more choices for frequent travelers, especially those seeking flexibility in flight schedules.
