Skyward Express Introduces Dash 8 Q400 Aircraft to Fleet

Skyward Express, has expanded its fleet with the addition of a Dash 8 Q400 aircraft, registered as 5Y-SKM. This versatile twin-engine turboprop, powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW150A engines, is designed to enhance the airline’s operational capabilities, offering both passenger and cargo services.

The Dash 8 Q400 can accommodate 76 passengers in a single-class configuration, making it ideal for Skyward Express’s domestic and regional routes. With a range of up to 1,500 miles (2,400 km), this aircraft is well-suited for connecting various destinations across Kenya and the broader East African region.

What sets this aircraft apart is its innovative quick change (QC) configuration. It is the first QC configuration certified by the manufacturer, allowing the aircraft to be seamlessly converted between passenger and cargo operations. This flexibility will enable Skyward Express to adapt quickly to market demands, optimizing both passenger and cargo transport services.
