Air Botswana Expands Network with New Routes and Increased Frequencies
Air Botswana is expanding its network and adding new routes this month, thanks to the recent addition of Embraer E175 aircraft to its fleet. This expansion is set to enhance connectivity across Southern Africa, providing more travel options for passengers.
New Routes
Starting October 1, 2024, Air Botswana will introduce the following new routes:
Gaborone to Durban: Three weekly flights using Embraer ERJ145/175 aircraft. From November 6, 2024, this route will be operated by the Embraer E170/175.
Gaborone to Windhoek: Three weekly flights using Embraer ERJ145/175 aircraft, with the Embraer E170/175 taking over from November 6, 2024.
Kasane to Cape Town: Beginning November 1, 2024, Air Botswana will operate three weekly flights on this route using Embraer ERJ170/175 aircraft.
Kasane to Nelspruit (Kruger Mpumalanga): Also starting November 1, 2024, there will be three weekly flights using Embraer ERJ145/175 aircraft.
Kasane to Windhoek: Three weekly flights will begin on November 1, 2024, using Embraer ERJ145 aircraft.
Maun to Cape Town: Starting November 2, 2024, Air Botswana will offer three weekly flights using Embraer ERJ145 aircraft.
Maun to Windhoek: This route will also begin on November 2, 2024, with three weekly flights using a mix of Embraer ERJ145, ERJ170, and ERJ175 aircraft.
Service Resumptions
Air Botswana is resuming several routes this month:
Francistown to Johannesburg: Resumed on September 15, 2024, with three weekly flights using ATR72/E170 aircraft. From October 1, 2024, the route will be operated by ERJ145/170, and from November 1, 2024, by ERJ145/175 aircraft.
Kasane to Johannesburg: Resumed on September 1, 2024, with three weekly flights using Embraer E170/175 aircraft. From October 1, 2024, the route will switch to ERJ145/175 aircraft.
Maun to Johannesburg: Resumed on September 1, 2024, with four weekly flights using ATR72/E170/175 aircraft. From October 1, 2024, the route will be operated by ERJ145/170/175, and from November 1, 2024, by ERJ145 only.
Frequency Increases
Air Botswana is also increasing the frequency of flights on the following routes starting November 1, 2024:
Gaborone to Cape Town: The frequency will increase from three to five weekly flights using Embraer ERJ145/170/175 aircraft.
Gaborone to Harare: The nonstop service will increase from one to three weekly flights using ATR72/Embraer ERJ170 aircraft, though the overall frequency remains at three weekly flights.
Gaborone to Lusaka: The nonstop service will also increase from one to three weekly flights using Embraer E170 aircraft, with the total frequency remaining at three weekly flights.
Route Adjustment
As of November 1, 2024, Air Botswana will no longer operate the two weekly Gaborone – Harare – Lusaka – Gaborone routing.
